We Finally Got a Piece of the (Big Apple) Pie
Colleen & I have been life-long renters. So we felt a bit like The Jeffersons yesterday, after closing on our very first apartment:
We are indeed "Movin' on up," but not to the "east side" or a "deluxe apartment in the sky." Rather, we are staying in our working-class neighborhood of Inwood, and moving to a "modestly priced co-op apartment with partially obstructed views."
I tried to do George's Check-Me-Out strut while walking into our building for the first time as an owner, but the effect isn't quite the same without a liveried doorman holding open the door.
And while fish may fry in our new kitchen, beans definitely won't be burning on the grill.

Awesome! Colleen said you were trying, but I wasn't sure if you finally got a place. Congrats.
Congratulations to you as well -- and Colleen says hello!
Yay!!!! Can't wait to hear all about it tomorrow!!!
Very happy for you guys. . . getting a piece of the Big Apple Pie is no small feat, regardless of where. I for one, love Inwood, and am psyched for you guys. Very friggin' cool!
big hugs,
Abbie
