2 Cents: Koh-ink-ee-dink
I like a lot of Stephen Shore's stuff, but this one doesn't do much for me:
It's entitled "Castine, Maine, 1974," and I'm pretty sure that I had seen it before, either in person somewhere or in a book.
It must've been in the dark reaches of my mind when I took this picture last month during the Japanese cherry blossom festival at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden:
They are obviously different pictures, though with a similar formal structure.
I don't think I can blame Shore for this next one, though it also involves a lobster:
I call it Self Portrait as Chinatown Lobster, August 2007. Maybe I was channeling Friedlander instead:
