Snapshots
This morning's "At War" blog of the NY Times has a brief feature on a set of photographs recently seized by the Pakistani military from tribal militants in South Waziristan.
The commentary focuses on the rarely-seen vistas depicted in the pictures, the fact that the subjects pose with firearms, radios, and other accoutrement of war, and whether their identity can be established. But I think the images are worth looking at as photographs. While the article suggests that the pictures were not the product of a single individual, my guess is that several are by the same photographer.
